The BC45B4522 provides an excellent solution for near field communication applications such as access control locks, tag readers, payment machines, etc.
The device is a 13.56MHz RFID reader controller which supports ISO14443A and ISO14443B protocols and also includes Crypto_M encryption/decryption functions. It provides transmission bit rates of 106, 212, 424 and 848kbps. By supporting multiple protocols the device is able to work with a range of NFC Tag types.
It provides an RF output current of up to 230mA which increases the sensing distance and also includes a low power mode for automatic card detection. To meet the needs of a wide variety of external control the device includes fully integrated SPI, I²C and UART interfaces. With regard to packaging, the device is supplied in a 32-pin QFN package type. These combined features will ensure that this new device meets the needs of a wide range of near field wireless communication applications.
