The MP2723A is an I2C-controlled narrow-voltage DC (NVDC) switching charger with USB on-the-go (OTG) mode and an enhanced analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. It operates across a 3.7V and 5.5V input voltage (VIN) range, and provides a 320mA to 3000mA configurable fast-charge current, as well as USB OTG with an adjustable output from 4.8V to 5.5V.
The charger provides various safety features for battery charging and system operations, including configurable JEITA for battery temperature protection, battery charging safety timer, thermal regulation, thermal shutdown, watchdog monitoring I2C operation, and input/system over-voltage protection (OVP). The device provides disabled battery FET (BATTFET) control to enter shipping mode, as well as a system reset function via the DISC pin. The MP2723A is available in a QFN-26 (3.5mmx3.5mm) package, and is designed for smart phones, tablet PCs, point of sale (POS) machines, wireless cameras, wireless speakers, and other portable device applications.
