CP220x Ethernet Controller ICs

The CP220x family is the industry’s smallest single-chip Ethernet controller containing an integrated Media Access Controller (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY). The CP220x single-chip Ethernet controller contains an integrated IEEE 802.3-compliant Media Access Controller (MAC), a 10Base-T Physical Layer (PHY) and 8 kB of non-volatile Flash memory available in either a 28-pin QFN (5×5 mm) or 48-pin TQFP (9×9 mm) package. The CP220x can add Ethernet connectivity to any microcontroller or host processor with 11 or more port I/O pins. The 8-bit parallel external memory interface bus supports both industry-standard Intel and Motorola bus formats in multiplexed and non-multiplexed mode. The CP2201 28-pin QFN package supports multiplexed addressing only. Mode select pins are used to select the bus interface mode.

CP240x LCD Controllers

The CP240x extremely low power LCD controller devices can drive up to 128 LCD segments. These devices are easily interfaced with any microcontroller using SPI or I2C interfaces. A benefit to this approach is designers can select the best-fit MCU for the system and then add the CP240x to handle LCD requirements efficiently with respect to system size and power consumption.
CP2400/1/2/3 devices are fixed function LCD drivers that can also be used for expanding GPIO, timekeeping, and increasing available system RAM by up to 256 bytes. The devices are controlled using direct and indirect internal registers accessible through the 4-wire SPI or 2-wire SMBus interface. All digital pins on the device are 5 V tolerant.

SPI to I2C

SPI-to-I2C Bridge Device and GPIO Port Expander

The CP2120 compact SPI-to-I2C bridge and general purpose port expander device can be easily added to a system to solve interface compatibility problems and add more GPIO when required. The chip includes a 4-wire slave SPI bus, bridge control logic, a bidirectional I2C bus interface and eight general-purpose input/output (I/O) pins. An SPI master communicates with other I2C devices by instructing the CP2120 to send and receive I2C data traffic using the simple command set. The CP2120 can act as a master-transmitter and a master-receiver on the I2C bus. All I2C timing, addressing and arbitration is handled by the CP2120.
